Kurz:

Daniela Bosenius, in Köln geboren und in Köln und Ennetbaden (CH) aufgewachsen, stammt sie aus einer Musikerfamilie: Mutter, Schweizer Pianistin, und Großmutter, die Gesangspädagogin Prof. Ellen Bosenius, haben ihre musikalische Entwicklung sehr gefördert. Nach dem Abitur studierte sie Musik an der Musikhochschule für Musik und Theater Saarbrücken (Hauptfach Gesang bei Prof. R. Gilvan), außerdem besuchte sie Meisterkurse (S. Geszty, K. Widmer) sowie Kurse der Commedia dell’arte und war Stipendiatin des Richard-Wagner-Verbandes Köln. Es folgten weitere private Studien bei Prof. Chr. Hampe (Karlsruhe), Prof. M. Galling (Saarbrücken), B. Bosshard-Mumme und Ion Buzea (beide Zürich); sie war Mitglied an der Neuen Opernschule Zürich/am Operngesang Studio Zürich, an dem sie auch als Korrepetitorin tätig war. Verschiedene Engagements (Oper, Operette, Musical) führten sie an Theater in Luxemburg, Deutschland, der Schweiz und auch nach Ostafrika.
Seit 2005 arbeitet sie als freiberufliche Musikerin und Pädagogin für Gesang, Stimmbildung sowie Chorleitung bei Kinder-, Jugend- und Erwachsenenchöre aller Genres, z. B. in Köln-Widdersdorf oder i. R. v. "Kulturrucksack NRW" (StädteRegion Aachen) oder „Kultur und Schule“ (Düren) sowie Kantorei Elsdorf und MGV Quartettberein Königshoven – als auch Stimmtraining für "sprechende Berufe" und tritt vor allem mit eigenen Programmen auf: „Musikalische Kleinkunst“ mit Musikliteratur „quer durch die Sparten“, also von G. Kreisler über W. A. Mozart, von Ch. Trenet bis J. Kander... für Gesang und Klavier/im Trio, womit sie Engagements in Europa und auch in Kenia nachgeht. Eine „Hansel and Gretel“-Produktion führte sie 2011 erneut nach Ostafrika. Außerdem geht sie einer regen Konzerttätigkeit mit Rezitalen (z. Daniela Bosenius, born in Cologne (Germany), grown up in Cologne and Ennetbaden (Switzerland) she comes from a family of musicians: Mother, a Swiss Pianist, and her grandmother, professor of singing Ellen Bosenius, very much supported her musical development.
Piano, violoncello and later also singing lessons since her childhood, she played the cello in different orchestras and in chamber music ensembles.
After A-levels 1994, she studied at the University of music and theatre Saarbruck (major subject singing with Prof. R. Gilvan); diploma in 1999 (with Final exams A).
Daniela was awardee of the Richard-Wagner association Cologne (1996), and she took part in masterclasses (with K. Widmer and S. Geszty) and courses of the Commedia dell’Arte.
After the diploma, she continued her studies with Prof. Chr. Hampe (Karlsruhe), B. Bosshart-Mumme, I. Buzea (both Zurich) and Prof. M. Galling (Saarbruck).
She was member of the “New Opera school Zurich” (NOZ), later of the “Opera Singing Studios Zurich”, there as well engaged as a répétieur (2001-03).
Various engagements at theatres (opera, operetta, musical) in Germany, Luxemburg and Switzerland were following and also she started playing her own programs Concerts with recitals, programs with Lieder, charity concerts and church concerts (singing and organ, as a soloist in oratorios and cantatas etc.) complete her musical activities.
Open-minded for exceptional challenges, she sang open-air and “a capella” on the former SS concentration camp Hinzert on the occasion of a project “Ortsgedächtnis II: Caché” of the artists Katarina Veldhues and Gottfried Schumacher (projection, installation), realized in the context of Luxemburg, European cultural capital in 2007, and in memory of the victims of the 3rd Reich.

Musical Cabaret

Daniela especially shows her wide spectrum of musical repertoire in her own programs (singing and piano). Her singing is characterised by the ability to cross the boundaries of categories of music – the programs live from the tension between the so called “classical” and “entertaining” music or between music and literature. The programs Sisters Act, Heroïnenlieder and mehr Heroïnenlieder have – among others – been performed on the occasion of the international youth project called “Jugend im Dialog – Youth in Dialog” (German-Dutch festival “Euriade”).

Through the variegation and the special timbre of her resonant mezzo-soprano and her warm alto voice Daniela playfully slips in to every character. The variety is the trump of these programs and electrifies the audience and the artist similarly. Current reviews, which are displayed on the homepage, describe the success of these programs.

Humorous, serious or insistent pieces are expressed by virtuosity of voice and dramatic art or sensual and lively chansons; spirited and greasy movie hits are in contrast to an ironical cheeky “Mack The Knife” – depending on the program (issue). Everything pure and unplugged!
